The New Book Store Reality

At Codorus, we’ve seen the deep wounds the shift in Barnes & Noble’s inventory policies have inflicted. In some stores, entire genre sections have given way to high literary pursuits like … Lego toys.

Nothing against Lego, but when we go looking for a Codorus title in a store’s mystery or science fiction or non-fiction essays section, we like to know the section still actually exists. These days it’s a safe bet that the section is still around, but will be significantly smaller.

So we were wondering if the new shrinkage of B&N and the complete disappearance of Borders would somehow spur the indie bookstores of the world to fill in the gap. According to this story from The Daily Page, they already have.
